Men’s Ministry
Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." That verse summarizes the purpose of our Men's Ministry at McDonough Road Baptist Church. We are here to learn together, encourage one another, hold one another accountable, and serve together.
Our Men’s Ministry meets every Thursday night at 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall for Bible Study and fellowship.
Beyond our monthly activities, we try to attend at least one conference/retreat every year. We are blessed to meet other men from other churches and learn together in those settings. We also serve in other projects in our community throughout the year.

The ministry offers a variety of Bible studies (morning and evening), 2Gather- Mom Time, special events and ministries.

Big Picture of Upward Sports: We view sport through the lens of a greater purpose – which means the impact can extend far beyond the game. Sports break down barriers and create a powerful catalyst for churches to build relationships and serve others.
Community: We believe the local church plays a key role in building up and fostering their community.
Play: All children deserve opportunities to be active, learn and have fun!
Whole Person: Based on Luke 2:52 “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” our experiences are designed to equip churches to engage the whole athlete – mind, body, spirit and soul.
Evaluations are mandatory for participation, are WALK-IN & ONLY TAKES 5-10 MINUTES (but there may be a wait!)
Upward Basketball at The Bridge
REGISTRATION IS OPEN
We are excited about the upcoming 2025-2026 Upward at The Bridge Basketball program!
Practices begin November 3rd. We will have practices during the week Monday-Friday.
Regular season games will be on Saturdays (Dec. 6, 13, 20, January 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31). Each player will have 1 practice a week and play 1 game a week.
There will be a post-season tournament for 5th/6th grade on February 6th and 7th. 7th/8th grade will play a post season championship and consolation game in early February (TBD).
K-4th Grade Evaluations: Saturday, Sept. 6th (Kindergarten (9-10AM); 1st/2nd Grade (10AM-12PM); 3rd/4th Grade (12-3PM)
5/6 Grade Girls: Tuesday, Sept. 2nd (3-5PM)
5/6 Grade Boys: Wednesday, Sept. 3rd or Thursday Sept 4th (3-5PM)
7/8 Grade Girls: Tuesday, Sept. 9th (3-5PM)
7/8 Grade Boys: Wednesday, Sept. 10th (3-5PM)
Children’s Ministry
G-5 Student Ministry for students for grades 7-12 on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. The hours for WOW for children up to 6th grade is Wednesday @ 6:00 p.m.
Ignite worship for our Young Adults
Thursday nights from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
